Copenhagen has a long history of promoting LGBTI+ rights, and we are delighted to host the combined WorldPride and EuroGames, and the amazing mix of sport events, parties, and talks at the human rights forum that the events hold.
Copenhagen is an openminded city where love is love, and you can hold hands with whomever you like. And after a long lockdown keeping distance, I think we all need to feel love, excitement, and proximity again. Hopefully, you and the rest of Copenhagen 2021 will help fill the streets with joy and understanding.
Copenhagen 2021 will be a great and varied celebration of diversity under the motto: You are included, and it is my sincere wish that the event will strengthen the global conversation about human rights and help create a more inclusive world with more understanding and equal rights for people from different minorities and with different sexual orientation, and different genders.
While visiting please take the opportunity to explore our destination and indulge in all the treasures Copenhagen has on offer. Here you will find one of Europe’s most exciting food scenes offer ing anything from four times best in the world restaurant, noma, to street food markets and, obviously, the local favourite “smørrebrød”. When thirst quenches, opt for our blossoming craft beer scene and surprisingly perhaps, an unparalleled selection of natural wines.
Make sure to explore the many design shops, cruise calmly through the city’s beautiful spaces and places, or go for a thrilling ride in Tivoli Gardens’ Demon. And do not forget to go sailing in the canals, ski down Copenhill and join a bike tour before cooling down with a refreshing dip in one of the popular swim zones in the clean harbour.
