Today is World AIDS Day
Today 01 December is World AIDS Day, commemorating all those people who have died from or who are living with HIV and AIDS since AIDS was identified 40 years ago.
Our community has been disproportionately affected by this abhorrent disease for decades.
We will never forget those who lost their life, we will never forget those family members who lost a love one.
We haven’t forgotten how victims were treated, vilified, and how the disease has been used as homophobic ammunition ever since.
Today, of course we remember the victims but we also thank the science. We thank the doctors and nurses. We thank the families pushing for a generation where we can say: AIDS is treatable, HIV is undetectable and victims will survive.
